chevin white and gold
Chevin tenor banjo white/gold 1930s This banjo is from the collection of Akira Tsumura. It appears with a whole-page front and back photograph on page 182 of his book Banjo-The Tsumura Collection (1920-1940). This is an 18-fret tenor banjo with a rosewood neck and engraved heel. Its decoration is typical of French instruments in the 1930s, with gold-plated metal parts and a shining white-gold material covering the fingerboard, headstock and resonator. The resonator carries an engraved star, typical of Chevin. The banjo retains its original friction tuners with amber buttons.
